Lesson Plans: Enhancing Learning Through the Shubenacadie Waterway

Eight comprehensive lesson plans were developed to align with the Nova Scotia curriculum for grades 1 to 6. These plans integrate subjects like science, math, social studies, and literacy, providing educators with tools to enhance learning through the rich history and natural environment of the Shubenacadie Waterway. By exploring topics such as local history, manmade and natural materials, and environmental impact, these plans inspire students to connect with their community and the world around them. The lesson plans were developed by the Fresh Air Classroom, which integrates outdoor learning, promoting physical, mental, and social well-being.
