Ribbon of Water: The Shubenacadie Waterway from the Air

The book is a collection of primarily aerial photographs by Andrew Younger tracing the path of the Shubenacadie Waterway from Halifax Harbour to Maitland.

The photographs were selected from ones taken by Younger in 2008 to assist the canal in gathering a new aerial visual record of development along the waterway.

The text tells the history of the canal and the importance of the waterway to the development of the province, the involvement of Nova Scotia’s legislature, as well as the involvement of famous Nova Scotians like Alexander Keith and Samuel Cunard.

Andrew was a member of the Canal Commission for five years.
