This award is presented to friends of the Shubenacadie Canal and Waterway who dedicate their time and effort towards improving this provincial heritage resource and its parklands for the enjoyment of all residents and tourists.
The commission recognized Bill McIntyre this year for his tireless work in leading the Commission as Chair from October 2016 to June 2021 . Bill actively participated not only as Chair but as a committee member on all committees. He was dedicated to supporting the commission mandate and during his tenure the Flume House project was completed, a very effective governance model was adopted, and the Transitions Project was launched. He is recognized as someone who has gone above and beyond and for that we remain grateful.
